Johnson Kendall Johnson (JKJ), a national insurance brokerage, recognized a growing disconnect between how they interacted with their clients and the feel of their digital footprint.

A company long characterized by warmth, empathy, and putting relationships first, the messaging and visual tones on their website and marketing materials simply didn’t match up.

This came out further during our Discovery and Analysis, when JKJ stakeholders consistently described the company as genuine, sincere, dependable, and competent—qualities that come to life most clearly through their people.

Website Design

Our approach was to shape a visual identity that greets you the way their people do.

Gardner Design’s work centered around a new, custom website that brings the brand’s story to the forefront in cheerful photography, succinct headlines, and strong colors. Animated aspects of the design add just the right touch. A graphic photo style that visually wraps around and protects the subjects in each image reinforces JKJ’s tagline, “Our passion is your protection.”

An improved navigation menu and refined content architecture make finding what you need easy. The website seamlessly flexes to mobile- and desktop-sized screens, with aspects of the functionality adapting to touch- and non-touch devices.

Iconography

The project included Gardner Design illustrating 40 bespoke icons representing areas of business, company core values, and categories of service. The geometric style of the iconography draws inspiration from the JKJ logo so they effortlessly go together.
