Bill Gardner is the Owner and President of Gardner Design and the founder of LogoLounge.com, the world’s most extensive and influential searchable archive of logo design.
At Gardner Design, Bill and his team have built brand programs for industry leaders including Cessna, Spirit AeroSystems, Bombardier/Learjet, Thermos, the NFL, Facebook, Google, Pizza Hut, Coleman Outdoor, Kroger, Hallmark, Cargill, SeaWorld, and Wichita State University. As the founder of LogoLounge, Bill created the definitive global resource for identity research and inspiration. He is the author of the bestselling LogoLounge book series, Volumes 1–15, and the long-running Annual Logo Trend Report, regarded internationally as the benchmark for understanding how identity design evolves.
Authorship
Bill is also one of LinkedIn Learning’s primary authors on branding and identity, with nearly 20 courses that have educated designers, marketers, and students around the world. His work and ideas have appeared widely in Communication Arts, Print, HOW, Graphis, Novum, Graphic Design USA, and nearly every major international design publication.
A frequent speaker and juror, Bill has lectured extensively across the North American continent and at institutions and industry conclaves around the world—including IED in Milan, Italy, as well as conferences and design gatherings in Russia, Ukraine, India, Ireland, Brazil, and Costa Rica, among others. His ability to decode visual shifts and cultural undercurrents has made him a sought-after voice on identity evolution and design futures.
Associations
Throughout his career, Bill has been deeply engaged in advancing both the design profession and his community. He served as Founding President of the AIGA Wichita Chapter, later joining the National AIGA Advisory Council, and received the AIGA Fellow Award in 2015 for significant contributions to the national and international design community. His civic leadership includes serving as President of Wichita Festivals, President of the Salvation Army Advisory Board of Wichita, Vice President of the American Advertising Federation of Wichita, and current President-Elect of the Wichita Rotary Club (2026–27), following his prior terms as Vice President of Programming and Secretary.
Bill is the Founding President of the Art and Design Advocates for Wichita State University and serves on the WSU Fine Arts Advisory Board. He was inducted into the Wichita State University Fine Arts Hall of Fame in its inaugural year (2015) and elected to the Wichita High School North Hall of Fame in 2014.
Education
He holds a BBA in Business and a BFA in Fine Art (Design focus) from Wichita State University, and completed a six-year term as Territorial Vice President of the International Brotherhood of Magicians—a fitting nod to the blend of craft, curiosity, and showmanship that has defined his career.
