A name change and drive to make greater waves in the competitive tourism and convention industry were the catalysts for Go Wichita’s rebrand. With so many distinguishable characteristics and assets, homing in on a single graphic element to encompass an entire community became the challenge. But research and survey results indicated that people who either live in Wichita, had visited Wichita or had never stepped foot in the Wichita, all had some level of recognition and regard for the Keeper of the Plains. The resulting identity is uniquely Wichita. It’s a fresh take on that highly identifiable symbol that looks to the open sky with hands raised in supplication of good things to come.
